We pick three Ajax Cape Town players who could play a major role for their club in the upcoming Cape Town Cup.

Travis Graham

Born: 8 May 1993

Nationality: South Africa

Former clubs: Ajax Cape Town juniors and reserve team

He may be just 22-year-old, but Travis Graham is already Ajax Cape Town’s captain and a senior member of their team. The all-action central midfielder brings balance to the Urban Warriors with his ability to link between defence and attack, though he will want to improve his goal-scoring record as his career progresses. Graham is a product of Ajax’s famous youth system and he made his PSL debut in the 2012/13 season.

Anssi Jaakkola

Born: 13 March 1987

Nationality: Finland

Former clubs: TP-47 (Finland), Siena, Colligiana (both Italy), Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), Kilmarnock (Scotland)

Finnish goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola has become a key player for Ajax Cape Town in two seasons with the club, clearly establishing himself as the first-choice goalkeeper and earning an extension to his contract with the Urban Warriors. The 28-year-old is tall and agile, with excellent shot-stopping abilities. He has previously played club football in Finland, Italy, Czech Republic and Scotland before joining the Urban Warriors in 2013.

Tashreeq Morris

Born: 13 May 1994

Nationality: South Africa

Former clubs: Juventus FC juniors (Cape Town), Ajax Cape Town juniors and reserve team

Versatile attacking player Tashreeq Morris was Ajax Cape Town’s top goal scorer in the Absa Premiership last season, scoring six goals from 28 league appearances. The 21-year-old can play several different positions in the final third, and it is his blend of strength and technique which makes him such a dangerous proposition for defences. A product of Ajax’s youth system, he made his PSL debut in 2013/14.
