Crystal Palace have emerged as the clear favourites to sign French international midfielder Yohan Cabaye after Tottenham Hotspur withdrew their interest.
Cabaye is reportedly keen on returning to the Premier League after falling out of favour at PSG.
The 29-year-old was a big hit at Newcastle United earlier in his career. The Magpies are reportedly keen on re-signing the playmaker, but current Palace boss Alan Pardew wants to bring him to Crystal Palace after they worked together at St James’s Park.
Pardew’s relationship with Cabaye is seen as giving the Eagles an edge in the battle for his signature.
West Ham were tipped as another interested club. Tottenham were considered potential contenders in the race to sign Cabaye, but according to the Mirror they have withdrawn their interest in the France international.
Instead, Spurs will turn their interest to Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbia.
