Premier League clubs Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are all reportedly keen on signing Algerian striker Islam Slimani.
The Sporting CP player was one of the stars for Algeria in last year’s World Cup and helped his Portuguese club win their domestic cup at the end of last season.
Slimani is highly rated by the Premier League quartet, who have all reportedly made enquiries over the striker’s availability, according to HITC.
He has previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, who tried to sign him last year, but Sporting refused to sell.
This time around, a fee of nearly £10million should be enough to secure his services.
Crystal Palace, one of Slimani’s potential suitors, will have the chance to evaluate the player at close quarters when both they and Sporting compete in the Cape Town Cup later this month.
