Ahead of their participation in the inaugural Cape Town Cup, Portuguese football giants, Sporting Lisbon have touched down in the Mother City and have conducted their first training session at Athlone Stadium.

The club's coach, Jorge Jesus is preparing his charges for their semi-final clash against hosts Ajax Cape Town on Friday night.

Jesus together with his technical staff such as goalkeeper coach Nelson Pereira are aware of the importance of getting their team ready for the upcoming 2015/16 campaign.

The move to arrive in the country three days before the match signals their intention to ensure their preparations are off to a bright start.

At the training session, players such as Tefilo Gutierrez, Andre Carrillo and Ruben Semedo were put through their paces under the watchful eye of the experienced technical team.

The match is scheduled to get underway at Cape Town Stadium on Friday night at 20:15 as they aim to stun Roger De Sa’s men.

In the other tie, English Premier League outfit, Crystal Palace are set to meet SuperSport United earlier at 17:45.
