Ex-Orlando Pirates winger Khethowakhe Masuku could re-unite with his former coach Roger De Sa at Ajax Cape Town as the Mother City side are currently talking to him.
According to a local website, RDS has revealed that he aims to boost his team after seeing his charges in action in the eTV Charity Showdown last weekend.
Masuku parted ways with the Sea Robbers at the beginning of July together with striker Lennox Bacela who has since been linked to SuperSport United and the University of Pretoria.
“I believe we are happy with what we have, but I still think we need another three players and we are going to get them hopefully before the Cape Town Cup gets underway,” said De Sa.
“One is pretty close and the next two, I think by the end of the week.
“We looked at a few players and he’s [Masuku] one of them, but there’s a lot of players we’ve been in touch with.
“But you know it’s always a question of availability, affordability, fitting into what we are looking for and then obviously comes the clubs involved, if there is any.”
Speaking about his team, the former Bidvest Wits and Cape Town Santos coach added that he’s content with the team.
“I am obviously happy with the squad that we’ve assembled thus far,” added the ex-Bafana Bafana international.
“I had a chat with the chairman the other day and we are looking at about 25 players.”
The Urban Warriors are set to face Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon in the Cape Town Cup first semi-final on Friday night at Cape Town Stadium at 20:15.
