Ajax Cape Town head coach Roger de Sa believes Abbubaker Mobara is too expensive for the local market.

Mobara has in the past been the subject of transfer speculation, with Orlando Pirates said to be interested in the 21-year-old.

De Sa firmly denied that there has been an approach from the Soweto club, adding that no club in the country can afford to buy the talented defender.

"Inquiries, no, I don't know where the stories come from - I don't think any club in the country can afford him anyway," said De Sa when quizzed on the matter.

The former Buccaneers mentor, though, didn't rule out a move overseas, adding that he is not for sale for the "local market" - keeping the door open for possible move abroad.

"Not for the local market, that is for sure," De Sa added.

Mobara and defensive partner Rivaldo Coetzee have attracted interest from Europe and could be plying their trade in the highest level in the near future.
