On Thursday morning Crystal Palace football club trained at the Cape Town Stadium, the match venue for Friday night's Cape Town Cup.

Manager Alan Pardew put his squad through their paces in what was a well-rounded session.

After an initial stretching routine, the players spent some time working on their passing in small areas of the field. After that there was some focus put on crossing and shooting drills.

Overall Palace had a good feel for the matchday pitch as the sun began to shine following several rainy days in the Mother City.

Some of Palace's star players like Yohan Cabaye, Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha were heavily involved in the attacking moves during the training drills.

Former Palace greats John Solako and Mark Bright are in Cape Town as part of the club's management and technical team. They were both in South Africa when Palace last toured the country way back in 1993.
