It is an honour to be part of the Cape Town Cup, according to Sporting Clube de Portugal coach Jorge Jesus while Ajax Cape Town's coach Roger de Sa is looking forward to "a big test".
Ajax, the host club of this weekend's four-team tournament, will face Sporting in Friday night's second game at 20h15. The first game at Cape Town Stadium will see SuperSport United clash with Crystal Palace.
“We are very honoured to be part of this (event), and our expectations are to do our best," said Jorge Jesus.
"It is our pre season and we will do our best to win the tournament."
Meanwhile De Sa said: “It presents another good test for our young squad.
"We do have a very young squad and we measured ourselves in the PSL last season. So this is a level up to face Sporting and a massive test for us.
"I hope we can put up a good fight, and give our fans something to shout about."
Meanwhile ticket prices for the Cape Town Cup have been reduced further, in line with the Bafana Bafana match ticket prices, to make it more affordable for soccer enthusiasts to attend the matches.
