SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund says his players are really looking forward to playing in the Cape Town Cup, starting with their game against Crystal Palace on Friday.

Speaking at the official press conference on Thursday, Igesund said: “Well of course we do know it will be a difficult game (against Palace).

"Alan (Pardew) has done a fantastic job with his team. We have also signed a few players, like our New Zealanders Boxall and Brockie. And Bongani Khumalo is back with us and hoping to secure a deal. They will all be involved.

"We are two thirds into our pre-season campaign and this is a really competitive game. But like all teams we want to do well, it is a good chance to see where we are.

"I will also look to mould the new players into the team and my players are looking forward to it – they are quite excited about this weekend. We are looking forward to maybe playing Sporting in the Final (on Sunday)."

Meanwhile Palace manager Alan Pardew says he will be giving a run to all his players, which include new signing Yohan Cabaye and key stars like Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

SuperSport face Palace at 17h45 on Friday night before Ajax Cape Town clash with Sporting Clube de Portugal at 20h15. The winners will play in the final on Sunday at 3pm.
