Rivaldo Coetzee says he is feeling fresh during the pre-season training and is already raring to go ahead of the new campaign.
Despite only getting two weeks off with his family in the off-season, the teenage Bafana Bafana defender believes he will be fresh and ready for the Absa Premiership season with the Urban Warriors.
“Pre-season is going well. We had a couple of tough weeks to freshen us up for the new season. Other than that it is going well. In some friendly games we did well, but some were disappointing, like losing 3-0 to Chippa United,” Rivaldo said.
“The spirit in the (Ajax) camp is positive though, and we are really looking forward to the new season.”
Asked whether he enjoyed some extended time off with his family to celebrate his breakthrough year on several fronts, Coetzee said: “Straight after the Nedbank Final I went home and spent about two weeks with the family before going to Bafana Bafana camp.
“It was short, but I am not fatigued or anything. I am fresh for the new season.”
This weekend’s Cape Town Cup provides another opportunity for Coetzee and his teammates to sharpen up ahead of the League campaign and the MTN8.
Cape Town Stadium will host the tournament set to kick off this Friday night.
SuperSport United face Crystal Palace followed by Ajax Cape Town-Sporting.
